Abstract

The artistic beauty originated from the imaginative artworks of a child with autism spectrum can help relieve the symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Art therapy can also improve child development stages and urge their learning and memorizing skills by understanding the child’s surrounding environment. It is because these skills indicate the improving or regressing child development. Accordingly, drawing is a gateway to the complex world of the child with autism spectrum which is complicated to understand their moods. The finished artworks by the child with autism spectrum express their purest beauty in their content,shapes, colors and the drawing and painting process. The art composition, which is not up to any art principles, captured the mother’s interest. The child’s artworkswere used in the mother’s mixed media artworks combining her proficient craft skills, such as, embroidering, crocheting, weaving, sponge stuffing and fiber dyeing. These artworks show her autistic child’s imagination and uniquely become her own signature. Furthermore, this can support and encourage families with autistic children to see the value of art therapy which is able to promote their children’s development
