Streetwear Collection Design for Alternative Culture Group from Post Human Art Concept

Abstract

Alternative culture groups are the target consumers among the late Gen Y and Gen Z. The Consumers have diverse fashion tastes and mainstream fashion styles, focusing on a mix of subcultural and streetwear influences, which is the representation of cultural diversity. The purpose of this study is to (1) study the design concepts, occasions and fashion making techniques for the target group, and (2) Design a prototype fashion collection with 4 looks. This study included (1) a quantitative research approach to derive target needs and (2) a qualitative research approach to derive inspiration, design concepts and collection designs. The study found that 64.3% of the target group preferred the concept of post-human art design, 59% preferred streetwear, and 91% preferred digital fashion production. In addition, this study developed the analysis results of post human art concepts and fashion trends to create an inspiration board and 4 fashion collection designs using digital fabrication techniques.
