The Development of Motion Graphic To Promote Soil and Water Reservation by Vetiver Grass

This study is quantitative and qualitative research, aims to 1) develop motion graphic to promote
soil and water reservation by vetiver grass 2) to educate new generation farmers about soil and water
reservation by vetiver grass. The tools are questionnaire; to find out the target group’s interests and
interview form to interview graphic designers, in order to find out the appropriate design and how to
improve the motion graphic. The results are as follow; the target group wants the content to show that,
the King Bhumibhol sees the benefit of vetiver grass the most 44%. They expect to gain knowledge of
soil and water reservation most 32%. The most interesting component in the motion graphic is
illustration 64%. They prefer the characters with unique outfit most 76% and are dressed up to identify
their occupation clearly. The content focuses on the losing pro blem of soil texture and water.
The presentation is relaxing, easy to understand and covers the information. The color tone is
natural bright. The graphic designers evaluated the appropriateness of the motion graphic in 5 points;
1) the story presentation 2) the content 3) the communication of illustration and symbols 4) the narration
5) the quality. Overall the result is the motion graphic is appropriate, according to the 5 points.
However,the 3rd point (the narration) could be improved. The pronunciation should be more proper.
