Advertising Self-Regulation Readiness of Television broadcasting services not using radio frequencies (Satellite Television / Cable Television)

Abstract
Self-regulation is an increasingly important issue since the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand B. E. 2540 (1997) encourages journalism to have freedom of action by self-regulation governed by professional ethics. Subscription - television broadcasting services not using radio frequencies (Satellite television / cable television) have been promoted by Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) to have a group to review the advertisements by studying the guidelines from the Advertising Association of Thailand through TV commercials workshops for Satellite television / cable television operators. Results indicated that the operators had their positive attitude towards participating in self- regulation with government sector and the knowledge gained from the workshops. However, self-regulation in the aspect of advertising by satellite television / cable television operators is still only at the beginning of the implementation process.
