Abstract
The objective of this article was to study the visions appeared in Royal Chronicle of the Ayutthaya Kingdom: Phan Chantanumat (Choem) Version. Regarding the patterns of vision occurrence, the results indicated that a vision referred to an omen of future happenings, which could be both good and bad. The good visions, for instance, were victories against enemies and great acts of merit, whereas the bad ones were defeats and riots. There were 2 patterns of vision occurrence: reality and dream. The former perceived visions with the general senses, while the latter perceived visions through dreams while sleeping. However, bad visions via dreams were not found. Good visions that occurred in the reality pattern usually expressed the miracles of Buddha’s relics foreshadowing the auspicious events in the future.
