A Needs Assessment of Academic Administration to Promote Students’ Mathematical Mindsets in Schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Samut Prakarn
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aimed to (1) study the current and desired state of academic administration in order to promote students' mathematical mindsets and (2) identify and prioritize academic administrative needs in order to promote students' mathematical mindsets. The sample consisted of 220 mathematics teachers’ schools under the Samut Prakan secondary educational service area office, by using stratified sampling method. The research instrument was a five-point Likert scale questionnaire with 41 items. Data was analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and the Modified Priority Needs Index (PNImodified). The research results were found as follows; 1. The overall actual state of academic administration in order to promote students' mathematical mindsets was at a high level (M = 4.20, SD = .499). The desirable state was at the highest level (M= 4.53, SD = .418). 2. Upon analyzing the needs assessment, the highest needs assessment in academic administration in order to promote students' mathematical mindsets was Developing media, innovation and technology to promote mathematical mindsets (PNImodified = 0.086).
