Social Perceptions on Police Practices

Abstract
Police Officers always perform their duty under the spotlight. Often, The practices, especially charging or arresting, are often viewed as immoderations or power abusing. Meanwhile, Police argues that the charges and arrests are done performed properly according to laws and regulations.
The result of analyzing the social perceptions on police practices using causal loop diagram shows that police practices involve using powers, discretions given by laws and regulations and their own organizational cultures which are both right and wrong doings. These perceptions are based on the images of police and the social trust toward police organization as a whole. The essential key to get positive social perceptions is the good communication with the public that the practices are done suitably according to laws, ethics and code of conducts and strictly controlled and monitored by police organization management.
