Evaluation of Understanding of Rescue Volunteers in Protecting Crime Scene in Criminal Offences against Life and Body A Case Study of Swang-Rojana-Thamma-Satarn Sattahip Foundation

Abstract

This study aims to investigate operational methods, levels of Cognition and Opinions about Crime Scene Protection, including the relationship between background factors and levels of Cognition and Opinions about Crime Scene Protection of Rescue Volunteers. Data was collected through questionnaires and tests from a sample group consisting of 133 Rescue Volunteers . Additionally, in-depth interviews were conducted with important information providers of 6 department heads. The collected data was then analyzed using frequency distribution, percentages, mean scores, standard deviations, variance analysis, and correlation coefficients. The research findings revealed that the majority of Rescue Volunteers were aged between 31-40 years, with a highest level of education is high school level/vocational certificate. Period of work for 6-10 years and had participated in seminars and training sessions. Regarding Rescue Volunteers, the study found that the majority of Rescue Volunteers had a high level of Cognition, with an average score of 8.44. In terms of opinions, it was found that the majority had moderate opinions, with an average score of 40.44. There was a statistically significant correlation between Cognition and opinions at a significance level of 0.013. Problems and obstacles included 1) issues with bystanders 2) the environmental conditions of the crime scenes affecting the ease of operation 3) personnel shortages 4) outdated equipment and tools. The suggested organizational development guidelines to enhance in Protecting Crime Scenes efficiency involve providing training on managing bystanders and working in various environments, scheduling rescue volunteers to address personnel shortages, and securing additional funding to purchase modern and efficient equipment and tools.
