Acquisition of Forensic Evidence at the Police Investigation Stage of Sexual Offenses

Abstract
The purposes of this research were to study problems of the difficulties also to offer guidelines for the collection related to the acquisition of forensic evidence at the investigation stages for criminal proceedings of sexual offenses. The qualitative research method was utilized in this research. The research indicated that: The problems relating to the acquisition of forensic evidence at the investigation stages for criminal proceedings of sexual offenses were The lack of forensic knowledge or expertise in the criminal proceedings-related personnel which caused an incomplete objective evidence collection at the crime scene. The consequences of the criminal procedure stipulated. An ineffective protection at the crime scene. The shortage of budget for necessary materials and tools for forensic science. The insufficiencies of forensic examining-related personnel to co-work with the crime scene investigators. And Other out of control problems which effected evidence collection and integrality proceedings. The guidelines for the complete and accurate forensic evidence collection in the cases of sexual offenses in accordance with the legality were suggested as follows: Advancing the forensic knowledge in the criminal proceedings-related personnel, allowing them to achieve their work performance. Amending the criminal procedure code stipulated in Section 131/1 to be in line with today’s unlawful society. Legislating the penalties for the person who access prohibitive crime scenes. Allocating the budget for the procurement of the necessary tools, equipment, or related series of devices for evidence collection. recruiting and incubating more crime scene investigators or related personnel. And applying chain of custody laws and regulations and examining the acquisition of the forensic evidence at the beginning investigation stages by the prosecutor.
