วัดพระธาตุลำปางหลวง: บทเรียน กรณีล่าสุดของการอนุรักษ์ศิลปกรรมไทย

Abstract

การอนุรักษ์ศิลปกรรมที่วิหารพระพุทธ วัดพระธาตุลำปางหลวง ซึ่งมีอายุราวพุทธศตวรรษที่ 21 ลงมา จนก่อให้เกิดความเสียหายทางศิลปกรรมนั้น เป็นกรณีศึกษาถึงปัญหาในการอนุรักษ์ศิลปกรรมที่เกิดขึ้นในประเทศไทยในด้านคุณภาพของงานอนุรักษ์ที่ไม่สามารถรักษาฝีมือช่างแต่เดิมไว้ได้ การแก้ไขปัญหาเฉพาะหน้าอาจทำได้โดยการสงวนรักษางานศิลปกรรมไว้ตามสภาพเดิมให้มั่นคงแข็งแรง หรืออาจถอดงานชิ้นเดิมเก็บไว้และเขียนงานขึ้นใหม่ติดตั้งใช้งานแทนของเดิม นอกจากนั้นยังสะท้อนถึงปัญหาในการจัดการระบบอนุรักษ์ศิลปกรรมของราชการไทยในรูปแบบการจ้างเหมาบริษัทเอกชนทำให้คุณภาพในการอนุรักษ์ไม่ได้มาตรฐาน บทความนี้จึงเสนอแนวทางแก้ไขโดยที่รัฐควรใช้วิธีรับเหมาอย่างรัดกุมและปฏิบัติเองบางส่วน รวมทั้งการผลิตช่างอนุรักษ์ที่มีคุณภาพให้เพียงพอต่อการอนุรักษ์ศิลปกรรมThe Buddha Hall of Wat Bhathart- Lampang-Luang: The Case Study of Art Conservation’s Problem in Thailand.

The conservation of the painting, made in 16th century, at the Buddha Hall of Bhathart-Lampang-Luang unwittingly led to its damage. This is the case study of art conservation’s problem in Thailand, especially the incapability of keeping its originality. The ad hoc solution is to preserve its original conditions by detaching and placing it with the copied one. This also shows us the problem of the style of art conservation of Thai government by hiring the inefficient private company. The long- term solutions are to be careful in choosing the company and to undertake the project partially by the government agency. The government should also produce enough experts in art conservation.
