Abstract
The Reconstruction Pra Kru Ponsamek History on the right bank of the Mekong River.
In the early of 18th centuries, Pra Kru Ponsamek a Theravada Buddhist monk, was a migration leader southward. He dedicated his life to establish Champassak and the central Mekong community (Roi Et). He was a religious leader, who attained the highest political position. This article aims to analyticaly reconstruct Pra Kru Ponsamek 's history on the right bank of the Mekong river. The content classifies in 4 parts; the analysis of evidence and documentaries, the reconstruction of PraKruponsamek History on the right bank of the Mekong river process, the impact of reconstruct Pra Kru Ponsamek 's history toward Mekong People, and the conclusion.
The study shown that reconstruct Pra Kru Ponsamek history process had occurred in the reign of King Rama IV of Siam in four periods on legends, chronicles, and books. The Champasak chronicle was produced by the last King of Ubonratchathani before 1893 A.D. The story of Pra Kru Ponsamek had written after 3 October 1893 A.D. in Isan Chronicles. From 1955 to 1991 A.D., Pra Kru Ponsamek story produced in the lower Mun valley and its tributaries. Between 1992 and 2013 A.D., local communities of the Mun Valley begin to reconstruct its history annex to Pra Kru Ponsamek. All four versions produced on the right bank of the Mekong River. In the nutshell, the Mekong people respect Pra Kru Ponsamek as a communities builder and spiritual guardian.
