Abstract

This research aims to: 1) Study the original content and belief systems surrounding the legendary battle between Naga and Makara in historical Lanna culture; 2) Create digital art depicting this legendary battle, inspired by contemporary Lanna cultural concepts; and 3) Present these creative works, in the form of digitally printed sculptures, in an exhibition. The exhibition results showed that responses from teachers, students, and the public were highly satisfactory, highlighting the creativity, storytelling, and detailed craftsmanship of the works. The viewers’ interpretations of the legendary battle from both aesthetic and contemporary perspectives led to meaningful questions and discussions, ensuring the preservation and relevance of the Naga versus Makara legend for future generations.
