This article ‘Doll: The Creation of Video Performance from Thai Postmodern Literature’ is a creative research that aims to create as video performance from Thai Postmodern Literature “Tukkata” by Win Lyovarin. Its conceptual frameworks of creative process include postmodernism, stream of consciousness and performance. Its methodology is practice as research that consists of 6 steps, those are: (1) analyzing literature in finding approaches to performance;
(2) experimenting with performance and filming in finding approaches to performance video; (3) analyzing symbol and signs; (4) selecting and editing performance footages; (5) developing the works; and (6) presenting the video performance to public. The results of the research suggest that to create the performance that reflects the stream of consciousness and to determine approach to performance creation needs the understanding of the character’s characteristics and feelings as well as the interpretations of the creators. In creative process, performer must be able to use different performing skills, employ her creativity, be brave in exploration as well as be flexible with approaches in performing. These qualities will allow new creation of performance that led to new symbols in performing. Finally, the understanding of filming and editing techniques will help to simulate what the stream of consciousness of the character’s perception would look like and could be presented as video performance.
