Jewelry Design of Trat Identity

Abstract
This research had the objectives to 1) study, analyze and categorize identity of Trat province to study, analyze and classify the identity of Trat Province. Use it as a guide for designing jewelry and 2) to create jewelry that expressed the identity of Trat province. Use it as a prototype of Cultural jewelry. The research was conducted by studying the identity of Trat province by five interviewing experts regarding the identity of Trat. The data acquired were categorized into the appearing identity groups Along with exploring and assessing people’s perceptions of Trat Province identity in each group. Collecting data from questionnaire of 200 people. Such analysis result data would be used in designing and developing jewelry sketch and the sketch would be selected by jewelry design experts to produce 1 set of jewelry.
From the research result, it was found that identity and image of Trat province was acknowledged to be an important port city from the past and it was an important shoreline tourism city of the East of Thailand. It was abundant on natural resources, foods and culture. Therefore, Trat was a famous city on sea tourism of the East, and it was an agricultural and local lifestyle tourism city. It could be divided into 4 contexts including 1) natural context 2) historical context 3) social and lifestyle context and 4) Arts and culture context. Regarding the assessment result of awareness and understanding of identity of Trat of questionnaire respondents, the context with the most awareness was natural context. Regarding the design of identity jewelry of Trat, the research used the concept of creative jewelry design along with specifying design criteria. The design was mixture of Trat identity in various contexts and its format was consistent with the jewelry trend design of 2022 which was designed into set of jewelry for female consumers between 46 - 55 years old with taste, modernness, self-confidence and openness to new things. The Jewelry Sketch with the highest assessment score and was used in producing the workpiece was the sketch No.2 which had the assessment result at the most suitable level with the total means of 3.95 out of a full 5.00.
