The creation of Art from Metal Waste with Participation of Young Volunteer in order to Raise Environmental Awareness

Abstract
The creation of art from metal waste with participation of young volunteers in order to raise environmental awareness aims to: 1) study the context of waste materials from industries, establishments, and shops, as well as environmental issues related to waste materials at the Ladkrabang Industrial Estate, Bangkok; 2) create contemporary art by synthesizing the knowledge of metal waste at the Ladkrabang Industrial Estate, Bangkok that entails inspiration and way to produce contemporary art to be aesthetic medium to raise awareness of the environmental problem; 3) give an opportunity for volunteer or community to participate in establishing a masterpiece and gain knowledge of the waste material. This research project contains the substances, perspectives, and concepts of the artists and designers regardless of the document-based research related to Conceptual art. This art makes activity and thought of relational art pertaining to the relationship between the “time,” which destroys the dividing lines of life and art. It emphasizes the process of viewers’ participation in the activity and the modification of space from the artistic to safe space and VDO documentary art which is a video recording real events or demonstrating a creative social environment known as a creative practice in the real thing. This practice displays through animation and the process of communicating reality via creative activities. The activity linking with art emphasizes the performing process more than the result, responds to the desire of social or community involvement. This project (that explores and aims to create innovative materials and new sustainable systems) pays attention to waste materials of beverage cans re-melted from the worthless to the liquid aluminum. Its fine materials can be further applied to create artwork through an artistic exchange of volunteers or the community.
