An Analysis and Technique of Concerto for Horn

Abstract

          The analysis of Concerto for Horn in Bb Major, Op.91 by Reinhold Glière for solo french horn is aiming for purposes of education research and analysis. This will be used for Miss
Nattaporn Na Chiangmai Master french horn recital. The analysis consisted of the composer’s biography, influences for composing, analysis playing included to create the most efficient
progress in mastering this composition.

          The results revealed that Concerto for Horn in Bb Major, Op.91 is one of those euphonious works which require advances techniques. Players must be able to perform advanced techniques of french horn in recitals. This piece was selected for a solo french horn as there were 2 solo pieces in the recital program. (1) Concerto for Horn in Bb Major, Op.91 by Reinhold Glière and (2) Concerto for Two Horns in Eb Major by Joseph Haydn.

          The performance book place on Wednesday 4th, April 2016, 4 p.m. At Recital room 3 floor, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University. The approximate duration of the
recital is 1 hour. The french horn recital consists Mr. Akanok Khorcharoen as a hornist and
Mr. Kerksakul Jaree as a pianist.
