Abstract

Task-based learning is a student centred methodology that is sporadically used at tertiary levels across Asia. Additionally, the specific subject of drama is seldom implemented in Asian classrooms. This paper aims to investigate the combination of using task-based learning and drama and its effects on student’s communicative competence and to examine student’s satisfaction towards learning English by using task-based learning and drama. The findings revealed that students increased communicative competence significantly and gained satisfaction by using task-based learning and drama. The findings of the study provide researchers and teachers with theoretical and practical information and approaches that can assist in further research and teaching approaches.
