Development of analytical thinking of recitations for the students of Mathayomsuksa 3 by using multimedia in combination with Inquiry Cycle method

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to compare the ability to analyze the recitations of Mathayomsuksa 3 students by using multimedia and an inquiry method in comparison with the criterion of 80% and 2) to compare the academic achievement before and after learning with the multimedia and the inquiry method designed to boost analytical thinking of recitations Mattayomsuksa 3 students. The target group was 14 Mattayomsuksa 3 students at Ban Khlong Luek Phatthana School, Pang Sila Thong District, Kamphaeng Phet Province, in the 2nd semester of 2019 academic year, selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments were 1) 5 lesson plans that combined search-based teaching and multimedia, and 2) an achievement test used as a pretest and a posttest. The statistics for data analysis were means, standard deviations, the one-sample t-test and the dependent t-test. The results showed that
1) the students' analytical thinking after using multimedia combined with the inquiry method was higher than the set 80% criterion at the level of .05 of statistical significance and
2) the students' learning achievement after using multimedia combined with the inquiry method was higher than before using the multimedia and the inquiry method at the level of .05 of statistical significance.
