THE MANAGEMENT MODEL FOR YOUNG ELITE VOLLEYBALL IN HIGH SCHOOL

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to create a volleyball excellence management model for young people in secondary schools in Thailand and to evaluate the feasibility of the model's implementation. The two methodology processes were utilized in this research. The Modified
Delphi technique was used in the first process to create an excellent volleyball management model for young people in secondary schools in Thailand. This process involved document analysis, associated research, and interviews with 19 experts, consisting of sports manager professional, national sports organization administrators, educational institution administrators and successful volleyball coaches. The results showed that the management model of volleyball for excellence for youth in secondary schools in Thailand had two important components: (1) the policy formulation, i.e. (i) the policy on promoting sports for excellence with the high suitability and (ii) the education policy with the high suitability (Mdn. value of 5.00) and high correlation (I.R. value of 0.00 – 0.25), and (2) the management process, i.e. (i) planning, (ii) organizational structure, (iii) operations and leading, and (iv) controlling (Mdn. value of 4.00-5.00; I.R. value of 0.00-1.00). In the second stage of the study, it was determined if it would be appropriate and practical to put a management model for volleyball excellence into practice. The management model for volleyball for excellence in secondary schools, according to 9 participants in its management for youth, was highly effective and appropriate in practical implementation.
