THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ACTIVE LEARNING INSTRUCTIONAL PACKAGE BY USING SQ3R TECHNIQUE FOR ENHANCE THE READING COMPREHENSION SKILLS FOR GRADE 3 STUDENTS OF “PIBOONBUMPEN” DEMONSTRATION SCHOOL, BURAPHA UNIVERSITY

Abstract

The objectives of research are 1) to develop an active learning instructional package by using SQ3R technique to enhance reading comprehension skills for grade 3 students to meet the efficiency E₁/E₂ at the criterion 80/80 2) to study the effectiveness index of the active learning by using SQ3R technique to enhancing reading comprehension skills for grade 3 students 3) to study the satisfaction of grade 3 students towards reading comprehension via active learning by using SQ3R technique. The sample group was grade 3 students of “Piboonbumpen” Demonstration School, Burapha University, 1^st semester, academic year 2019, obtained from Cluster Random Sampling, consisted of 1 classroom. There were 29 students in the sample group. The statistic used in this research were the mean (), standard deviation (SD) and finding the effectiveness index (E.I.)

            The results showed that 1) The results of efficiency test of Active learning Instructional Package by using SQ3R technique to enhance reading comprehension skills for grade 3 students according to E₁/E₂ =  85.52/82.53 2) The effectiveness index (E.I.) of Active learning Instructional Package by using SQ3R technique to enhance reading comprehension skills for grade 3 students is .69 3) The satisfaction of grade 3 students towards reading comprehension via active learning by using SQ3R technique was at the highest level.
