Development of a system for effective early childhood education in schools under Office of the Basic Education Commission

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to develop a system for effective early childhood education in schools under Office of the Basic Education Commission 2) to evaluate result of a system for effective early childhood education in schools under Office of the Basic Education Commission. The research methodology was divided into 2 phases:  1) to develop    a system for effective early childhood education from seven experts 2) to evaluate result of a system for effective early childhood education. The sample consisted of 65 people: teachers, academicians, educational institution board, parents/guardians and 24 early childhood students. The research instruments were: questionnaires, assessment forms and interview forms. Statistics used for data analysis were average and standard deviation.       

        The results of this study were as follow:

           A system for effective early childhood education consisted of: the input elements including  the leadership of administrators, early childhood teacher’s personality, facilities and service, participation of community parents/guardians, readiness of learners and reference policies; the process elements including  appointment and responsibilities of working groups , enhancing knowledge and understanding , preparation of assessment tools , early childhood teacher development , childhood curriculum development , experience for early childhood , environmental management , early childhood development assessment , supervision,  evaluation; the output elements including physical development, emotional development, mental development, social development, intellectual development and satisfaction; the feedback elements including reporting; the sub-system of school including early childhood curriculum development system, early childhood teacher development system, experience for early childhood system, environmental management system and early childhood development assessment. The evaluation results of a system for effective early childhood education in schools under Office of the Basic Education Commission; the process overall appropriate was in high level, the early childhood development overall was in the highest level as well as the satisfaction overall was in high level.
