Analysis of Acquisition Errors by Thai Learners in Using Chinese Adverbs “又” (Yòu) and “再” (Zài)

Abstract

  The research on error analysis of adverbs in Chinese as a second language (CSL) lacks systematicness and comprehensiveness, and the analysis of the causes of errors needs more innovation . Chinese adverbs pose a significant challenge in Chinese international education, among which "又" (yòu) and "再" (zài) are two frequently used adverbs with rich meanings. While they share similarities in expressing repetition and continuation, there are also subtle differences. Thai students often encounter three types of errors when using "又" and "再" in Chinese: misuse, omission, and addition. This paper aims to explore the causes of these errors and propose corresponding strategies.
