Competency Behavior Influencing to Successfully of Small and Medium Entrepreneurs in Songkhla Province in Entering into the ASEAN Economic Community

Abstract

The research aimed to 1) study the level of success of small and medium-sized business
enterprises in Songkhla Province for entering into the ASEAN Economic Community and 2) to study
the behavioral competencies that affect the business success for entering into the ASEAN Economic
Community. A representative sampling from small and medium-sized business enterprises is in
Songkhla Province. The research instrument is questionnaire and questionnaires were administered
to 400 respondents. The questionnaire has been assessed and corrected according to the advice
of experts. The data were analyzed by a computer program using descriptive and inferential
statistics. The research revealed that: 1) the success of the small and medium-sized business in
Songkhla Province is in the highest level, with the highest level of success first, is business security,
while the last is the return on investment and 2) behavioral compatencies that affect the business
success consist of the management, task achievement competencies and relationship. The results
of the research provided a fruitful insight to business entrepreneurs and agencies involved in the
development of small and medium business operators.
