Abstract

This research has 3 objectives: first, to study the basic information about the networking
system, and the government support and obstacles to expanding the networking concept in SMEs.
Second, to find out the opinions and requirements of networking members. Third, to study the
keys to success of the government developing the SMEs networking system. This research was
a qualitative-based approach which interpreted and summarized some conclusions using the
quantitative method. This research studied 35 small fashionable entrepreneurs in 6 networking
groups. This research found: first, the young new generation of entrepreneurs were earnest
networking members with potential in brand design and full capabilities in new communication
technologies; second, members were conscious about the government support and wanted to
participate in developing the government networking plan. Moreover, more training and consultation
was required from the government and a strong close in-group network relationship was needed;
third, members have high levels of satisfaction in networking, operating and cooperating which
showed that the objectives of the government operating plan in networking system succeeded.
As regards recommendations for government, they should serve the network members in terms of
higher education and English language skill, including capabilities in using advanced communication
technologies. The government should increase its collaborative role in finding merchandise channels
both in the local and international markets. However, all members should continually develop
the quality of their own products, organization, business plan, as well as build up strong and warm
in-group relationships both through formal and informal activities.
