การพัฒนาความสามารถด้านการอ่านคำศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 4 โดยใช้วิธีสอนอ่านเป็นคำร่วมกับเทคนิค Picture Me Reading

Abstract

The purposes of this research were: 1) to develop the word reading abilities in English of Prathomsuksa 4 students through sight word approach integrated with the picture me reading method, with a passing score at or above 70 percent of the points overall, and 70 percent of all students reaching the passing score set, and 2) to examine the students’ satisfaction toward the developed  learning management. The target group involved three Prathomsuksa 4 students with learning disabilities from Kokpek Primary School under Sisaket Educational Service Area Office 1, during the first semester of academic year 2018. The research instruments included: 1) 12 lesson plans, 2) a teacher teaching behavior observation form, 3) a students’ learning behavior observation form, 4) instruction records, 5) students’ interviewing records, 6) end-of-spiral English words ability tests, 7) tests of word reading abilities in English, and 8) students’ satisfaction questionnaires toward the developed learning management. Quantitative data was analyzed by descriptive statistics consisting of mean (), standard deviation (S.D), and percentage (%). Content analysis was employed for qualitative data presentation.

            The results revealed that:

1. The students had average score of word reading ability in English at 25.66, accounted for 85.53 percent. There were three students who passed the criteria accounting for 100 percent which was higher than the defined criteria.

       2. The students’ satisfaction toward the developed learning management was at the highest level (= 4.75, S.D. = 0.44), ranging in a descending order from highest to lowest: teachers, learning management processes, measurement and evaluation, and teaching materials, respectively
