Abstract
The objectives of this research were: 1) to examine current conditions, problems and needs for a web-based training development for teachers, 2) to develop a web-based training for teachers, 3) to validate the effectiveness of a web-based training for teachers, and 4) to examine teacher satisfaction toward the developed web-based training. The development of a web-based training employed a system development life cycle method (SDLC), an analysis design development implementation evaluation model (ADDIE Model), and a modular object-oriented dynamic learning environment (Moodle) program system. The population consisted of 300 teachers working under Nakhon Phanom Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, obtained through multi-step random sampling, to examining current conditions, problems and needs. The 50 sample teachers with basic knowledge of technology, selected through purposive sampling, as so to evaluate the efficiency and satisfaction. The research tools were a set of questionnaires, an evaluation form of efficiency, a satisfaction assessment form. The statistics used for data analysis were a frequency, a percentage, and mean.
The findings were as follows:
- In terms of current conditions, problems and needs for the development of web-based training for teachers, most respondents were male, bachelor's degree holders, experienced using media as the medium of instruction. The problems involved a lack of knowledge in using media, no coordination center, and needing improvement in creating electronic books.
- In terms of a training web-based development, a researcher applied the ADDIE Model and the principles of the system approach, namely CAI/CBT, WBI./WBT or e-Learning as of its closed system. The outcomes from the following evaluation process, including Analysis (A), Design (D), Development (D), and Implementation and Evaluation (I & E), were also included.
- The efficiency of the web-based training development for teachers was reviewed by a panel of experts as a whole at a very good level ( = 4.68, S.D. = 0.10). The result from 20 of non-participants was at a very good level ( = 4.70, S.D. = 0.26). The result from 50 samples as a whole was also at a very good level ( = 4.70, S.D. = 0.28)
- The satisfaction assessment result from 50 teachers toward the web-based training for teachers as a whole at a very good level ( = 4.63, S.D. = 0.27)
