Factors Influencing Participation in Green Logistics: A case study DDD Co., Ltd.

Abstract

This study aimed to (1) examine whether differences in personal factors affect strategic pressure factors and participation in green logistics business; (2) investigate the relationships among strategic factors, strategic pressure factors, and motivation for participation in green logistics; and (3) examine the influence of strategic factors on participation in green logistics in the case study company. The sample consisted of 265 executives and back-office employees. Data was collected through an online questionnaire using purposive and convenience sampling. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, tests of differences, Pearson’s chi-square, and multiple linear regression analysis. Research results: showed that most respondents were female, aged 21–34 years, held a bachelor’s degree, worked as general staff, had more than 1 year but not more than 3 years of work experience, and earned an average monthly income of 30,001–50,000 baht. Overall, strategic pressure factors and motivation for participation in green logistics were both rated at the highest level. Differences in age, educational level, and job position significantly affected strategic pressure factors, while differences in income significantly affected participation in green logistics. In addition, strategic pressure factors were significantly related to all dimensions of participation in green logistics (p < 0.001). The results of the multiple linear regression analysis further indicated that strategic pressure had the strongest influence on participation in green logistics business, followed by green logistics practices, collaboration with business partners, and perceived benefits (p < 0.05).
