AN AFFECTING OF SELF-EFFICACY IN PERSONAL FINANCIAL PLANNING TO TEACHER’S FINANCIAL FREEDOME IN THAILAND

Abstract
The objectives of this research were to 1) compare the level of self-efficacy in personal financial planning between teachers who had financial freedom and those who did not, 2) study the effects of self-efficacy in personal financial planning on teacher’ financial freedom in Thailand, and 3) study the effects of self-efficacy in personal financial planning on teacher’ survival ratio in Thailand. The study was quantitative research. A survey questionnaire was used to collect data from the samples of 862 teachers including teachers who had financial freedom and those who did not. The data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation and binary logistic regression analysis.
The research findings were as follows: 1) Most of the teachers who answered the questionnaire had no financial freedom but had survival ratio. They live in Northeastern region, and are female, aged 50-59 years old, married and hold a bachelor’s and master’s degree. The group who had financial freedom and those who did not, were not significantly different in terms of the level of self-efficacy in financial planning, 2) The model of the factors affecting of self-efficacy in personal financial planning on teachers’ financial freedom in Thailand was suitable and was 91.1% accurate for predicting the financial freedom. Moreover, the factor that significantly affected the teachers’ financial freedom was the region of workplace, and 3) the model of the effects of self-efficacy in personal financial planning on teachers’ survival ratio in Thailand was suitable and was 90.3% accurate for predicting the survival ratio. The factor that significantly affected teachers’ survival ratio was also the region of workplace.
