About the Journal

Focus and Scope

  1. To publish research and academic articles in the fields of humanities and social sciences, encompassing education, humanities, business management, social sciences, and other related disciplines. This includes contributions from faculty and students both within and outside the university, as well as interested individuals domestically and internationally.
  2. To serve as a medium for exchanging news, information, experiences, and research findings among academic personnel, fostering an increasingly international scholarly community.

 

Peer Review Process Policy

  1. All manuscripts submitted for publication must be either research articles or academic articles written in English.
  2. Manuscripts will be accepted for publication only if they strictly adhere to the formatting guidelines specified by the journal.
  3. Articles must undergo a rigorous screening process by experts in the relevant fields. They must not have been previously published or be currently under consideration by any other journal. The author bears sole responsibility if duplicate publication is detected.
  4. Every published article must be approved by at least three (3) experts (peer reviewers) specializing in the relevant field, selected from inside and/or outside the university.

Review Method: The journal employs a double-blind review process, where the reviewers' identities are concealed from the authors and vice versa. Additionally, reviewers must not share the same institutional affiliation as the authors.

 

Publication Frequency

The Journal of Global Perspectives in Humanities and Social Sciences (J-GPHSS) is published three times per year (tri-annually):

Issue 1: January – April

Issue 2: May – August

Issue 3: September – December

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Journal History

Origin and History of the Journal: The Journal of Graduate Studies Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University has been continuously publishing academic and research articles since 2007. Currently, it is indexed in the Thai Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI) database. Its primary objectives are to disseminate research and academic articles in humanities and social sciences—covering education, humanities, business management, social sciences, and other related fields—from faculty members and students both within and outside the university, as well as interested scholars domestically and internationally. It also serves as a medium for exchanging news, information, experiences, and research findings to foster an increasingly international academic community. In 2025, Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under Royal Patronage established a policy to elevate the journal’s quality to a more international standard. Consequently, the following changes were implemented:

  1. Journal Name Change: The journal’s name changed “Journal of Graduate Studies Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University” to “Journal of Global Perspectives in Humanities and Social Sciences (J-GPHSS)”. The new title does not have a Thai version and will be officially used starting from Vol. 20 No. 3 (September – December 2026) onwards.
  2. Aims & Scope of Revision: Effective from October 1, 2025, onwards.
  3. Language Policy: The journal now exclusively accepts articles written in English.

Authors submitting manuscripts from this point forward will be considered for publication in Vol. 20 No. 3 (September – December 2026) and subsequent issues.
