Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) investigate the issues related to the return of information resources at the Learning Resources and Educational Innovation Center, University of Phayao, by undergraduate students; and 2) propose solutions to address these return issues. The sample consisted of 392 undergraduate students enrolled in the second semester of the 2023 academic year and the first semester of the 2024 academic year, selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire designed to explore the problems faced by undergraduate students in returning information resources. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, along with content analysis to assess feedback and suggestions for improving the return of overdue information resources.

The findings revealed that: 1) The primary issue regarding the return of overdue information resources was related to the users, followed by issues related to service regulations and service providers/staff, respectively. 2) The overall analysis of the proposed solutions for returning overdue information resources showed a high level of agreement. Specifically, the most recommended solution was the implementation of a notification system via Line Official, followed by email reminders for overdue returns or fines connected to the University of Phayao's REG system, and a self-check system for returning information resources, respectively.
