Librarians’ Copyright Literacy of Law Libraries in Bangkok

The purposes of this research is to study copyright law literacy among law librarians in Bangkok and to compare the copyright law literacy among librarians based on educational levels and work experiences. The sample group consisted of 80 librarians from 15 law libraries in Bangkok, selected through simple random sampling. A test was used as a research tool. The statistical analyses included percentages, averages and standard deviation. The hypotheses were examined using an independent t-test. The findings revealed that librarians exhibited a moderate overall level of copyright law literacy. When considering each dimension, the overall level of literacy about copyright law and related laws was moderate. Regarding the literacy of copyright law in library work and librarianship, the overall level was moderate. When comparing by levels of copyright law literacy, the research found that librarians with different educational levels and work experiences had significantly different overall and dimension-specific levels of copyright law literacy at .05.
