Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study the needs for vocational skills of students of education expansion schools under the Phetchabun Primary Education Service Area Office 1 and develop a set of guidelines for teachers. The 102 participants were heads of academic affairs and heads of career learning groups of the schools. The data were collected by using a questionnaire and analyzed by mean and standard deviation. The qualitative data were collected by using an interview with 5 experts in educational administration, curriculum management and school curriculum development, selected by purposive sampling. The data were analyzed by content analysis. The results showed that their overall needs were at the highest level, with the highest mean on skills on leadership and responsibility, and the lowest mean was on problem-solving and adaptability skills. As for the guidelines, schools should make their curriculum more flexible  emphasizing the learning process that students have practical practice and the integration of all sectors involved in promoting vocational skills in schools.
