Abstract

The purposes of this research and development were to develop eco-tourism activities; manipulate and evaluate the routes of eco-tourism; arrange the storytelling training course for storytellers; and perform the activities to promote local products to tourists. Eighty-five participants, including 25 local residents, 30 trainee and 30 tourists, were purposively selected in this research. The research instruments were in-depth interviewing, guideline and training course, pre-test and post-test and questionnaire. The results were as follows: there were a wide range of outstanding eco-tourism activities for all age groups, including natural landscape, temple and national park for sightseeing and outdoor activities as well as fishermen’s way of life, blue swimming bank and park-running activities; The overall satisfaction of eco-tourism routes arranged into 3 categories were “satisfied” and the highest satisfaction rank was in the quality of roads (“strongly satisfied”) The mean post-test score of storytelling trainee was significantly higher than pre-test score (P<0.05), and they were “satisfied” with the course; for local product suggested that cold-pressed coconut oil and herb fish chili paste were well-accepted and popular among tourists.
