THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN INFORMATION SYSTEM OF HISTORY, ARTS, CULTURE AND LOCAL WISDOM OF ETHNIC GROUPS IN NAKHONSAWAN PROVINCE

Abstract

The research aims to study and synthesize the information about history, arts, culture and local wisdom of ethnic groups in Nakhonsawan Province, and develop an information system and disseminate it. There were 2 groups of key informants of this research and development. The first group consisted of 8 community leaders and village scholars from each ethnic group, obtained by specific selection. The data were collected by using an in-depth interview. The second group, 30 participants, consisted of school administrators, teachers and educational personnel of the schools located in ethic areas. Their satisfaction toward the information system was assessed by 3 experts in information system development. The statistics used in the data analysis were mean ( ) ) and standard deviation (S.D). The results showed that in Nakhonsawan there are 6 ethic groups: Chinese, Lao, Vietnamese ,Mon, Muslim and local Thai ethnic groups. In terms of the information system development, the results indicated that Black Box Testing, was at the highest level. Also, as for the dissemination of the information system, it was found that their satisfaction was at a high level.
