Assessment of Community-Based Tourism Management Potential Based on Community-Based Tourism Standard Criteria: Bo Saen Subdistrict, Thap Put District, Phang Nga Province

Abstract
This qualitative research aims to evaluate community-based tourism management in Bo Saen Subdistrict, Tap Pud District, Phang Nga Province, using five evaluation criteria for community-based tourism standards: 1) community-based tourism management, 2) economic, social, and quality of life management, 3) conservation and promotion of community cultural heritage,
4) systematic and sustainable natural resource or environmental management, and 5) quality of community-based tourism services. Data analysis from focus group discussions with community leaders, business people, and local tourism and service staff in Phang Nga Province, totaling 10 participants, revealed that Bo Saen Subdistrict's community-based tourism management is rated very good overall. All five evaluation areas received very good ratings, indicating that Bo Saen Subdistrict has high potential for tourism development, particularly in the area of conserving and promoting community culture. This results in Bo Saen Subdistrict's exceptional potential for developing tourism activities align with the preservation of culture, natural resources, and the environment. However, the community received the lowest score in the quality of community-based tourism services compared to other areas, especially in the quality of services at the tourism sites. The findings of this research will be beneficial for managing community-based tourism in Bo Saen Subdistrict and can be applied to community-based tourism groups in other areas.
