Abstract

The purposes of this research was to study leadership styles that affect the creativity of employees. It was conducted with 400 employees of the large electric appliance manufacturing company. They were stratified random sampling divided by the ratio of the number of employees in each department in the company. The data was collected by the questionnaire and was analyzed in terms of frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation as well as structural equation model.
The results of the study confirmed that the model fit well with the empirical data. The standard weight of all indicators displayed in the model were found to be statistically significant (2 = 97.86, p-value = 0.013, 2/df = 1.418, GFI = 0.969, AGFI = 0.947, CFI = 0.987, NFI = 0.957, and RMSEA = 0.032). The results of hypothesis testing showed that the people-oriented leadership affects the creativity of the employees of electrical appliance companies and has statistically significant at 0.05 level. However, the team-oriented leadership does not affect the creativity of the employees. The structural equation model had 19 percent predictive power.
