บทคัดย่อ

บทนำ: พิธีงานศพสะท้อนความเชื่อเรื่องโลกหลังความตายและการให้ความหมายต่อความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างผู้มีชีวิตกับผู้ล่วงลับในแต่ละสังคม อย่างไรก็ตาม การศึกษาวัฒนธรรมความตายมักมุ่งพิจารณาในช่วงระหว่างพิธีงานศพ มากกว่าความหมายที่ดำรงอยู่ภายหลังพิธี วัตถุประสงค์ของการวิจัย: เพื่อวิเคราะห์กระบวนการวางกรอบ-องค์ประกอบของภาพถ่ายและเรื่องเล่าเกี่ยวกับภาพถ่ายพิธีงานศพในฐานะวัตถุแห่งความทรงจำในอดีตที่สะท้อนต่อวัฒนธรรมของเกี่ยวกับความตายและการประกอบสร้างอัตลักษณ์ความเป็นชุมชนจีนในกรณีของชุมชนหนองบัว จังหวัดจันทบุรี ระเบียบวิธีวิจัย: การศึกษานี้ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพผสานแนวคิดชาติพันธุ์วรรณา โดยวิเคราะห์ความเชื่อมโยงระหว่างเรื่องเล่าความทรงจำกับภาพถ่ายพิธีงานศพของคนในชุมชนจำนวนสามครอบครัว ผลการวิจัย: พบว่าความทรงจำที่มีต่อภาพถ่ายพิธีงานศพพิจารณาได้สองด้าน ด้านแรก ภาพถ่ายทำหน้าที่เป็นประจักษ์พยานทางประวัติศาสตร์ของพิธีงานศพ โดยการวางกรอบภาพและการจัดองค์ประกอบของวัตถุสะท้อนความเชื่อเรื่องโลกหลังความตายในวัฒนธรรมของชุมชนจีนหนองบัว ด้านที่สอง เรื่องเล่าความทรงจำเกี่ยวกับภาพถ่ายสะท้อนการให้ความหมายต่อความตายผ่านความสัมพันธ์แบบลำดับขั้นในวงศ์ตระกูลและความสัมพันธ์แบบชุมชน ซึ่งเป็นมิติของความหมายที่อยู่เหนือองค์ประกอบซึ่งปรากฏในภาพถ่าย สรุป: ทั้งสองด้านแสดงให้เห็นว่าภาพถ่ายมิได้เป็นเพียงหลักฐานของพิธีกรรมในอดีต แต่เป็นพื้นที่ที่ความทรงจำและความหมายเกี่ยวกับความตายได้รับการสืบทอด ตีความ และประกอบสร้างอัตลักษณ์ความเป็นชุมชนจีน
