Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study the physical fitness level and reliability of the physical fitness tests for students in grades 1–6 at Nam Pong Prachanukul School, academic year 2024. The participants consisted of 105 students, with 44 males and 61 females, and were purposively selected. The research tool used was the Physical Fitness Test for Elementary School Students (aged 7–12 years) by the Department of Physical Education, 2022, consisted of five tests including body mass index, sit-and-reach, push-up (adapted) for 30 seconds, sit-up for 60 seconds, and standing knee lifts for 3 minutes. Data were analyzed by using mean, standard deviation, and test-retest reliability (Intraclass Correlation Coefficient). The results revealed that the physical fitness levels of male and female students across all grades were classified as excellent, good, and average level, except for the sit-and-reach test for students in grades 5 and 6, which was classified as low level. The reliability of the physical fitness test for students in grades 1–6 was found to be good to excellent level (0.892–0.991). In conclusion, students' physical fitness levels varied across grades, and the physical fitness tests used were suitable and applicable for further used in physical education teaching and research.
