The Development of Reading Comprehension Ability and Collaboration Ability of Matthayomsuksa 1 students by Using Think-Pair-Share

Abstract
The purposes of this research were 1) to compare the comprehension reading ability of Matthayomsuksa 1 students before and after using the Think-Pair-Share technique 2) to study the collaboration ability of Matthayomsuksa 1 students using Think-Pair-Share technique and 3) to investigate the opinions of Matthayomsuksa 1 students towards instruction by using the Think-Pair-Share technique. The sample of this research, selected by simple random sampling, were 40 Matthayomsuksa 1/3 students of Chainatpittayakom School, Mueang Chainat District, Chainat Province in the first semester of the academic year 2022.
The research instruments were the lesson plans of the Think-Pair-Share technique, comprehension reading ability test, observation checklist about collaboration ability, and the questionnaire on the students’ opinions towards the Think-Pair-Share technique. The data were analyzed by mean (M), standard deviation (SD), and t-test dependent.
The results of the study were as follow 1) The comprehension reading ability of Matthayomsuksa 1 students after using the Think-Pair-Share technique was significantly higher than before using the Think-Pair-Share technique at .05 level. 2) The students' Collaboration ability after using the Think-Pair-Share technique was positive at a good level. 3) The students' overall opinions towards instruction by using the Think-Pair-Share technique as a whole were at the high agreement level.
