Abstract

This study aimed to 1) construct and investigate the quality of a Chinese rhyming vocabulary book to promote Chinese vocabulary memorization skills of elementary school students at Demonstration School of Chiang Rai Rajabhat University; 2) to find out the effectiveness of using the book; and 3) to investigate the satisfaction in using the book. The research sample of this study was a group of Grade 5 at the school, consisting of 30 people and was selected based on the simple random sampling method. The research tools consisted of the Chinese rhyming book, the evaluation of the book effectiveness, and the satisfaction assessment form. The statistics used in the analysis were mean, standard deviation, and frequency. The findings revealed that: 1) The results of constructing and investigating the quality of the Chinese rhyming vocabulary book in order to enhance the Chinese vocabulary memorization skills of the elementary school students were found to be at the highest level (  = 4.23 , S.D.=  0.57). 2)The results of the effectiveness in using the Chinese rhyming vocabulary book to promote the Chinese vocabulary memorization skills showed that the effectiveness of using the book was at 0.69. 3) The results of assessing the satisfaction towards the Chinese rhyming vocabulary book in order to enhance the Chinese vocabulary memorization skills of the elementary school students revealed that the students were satisfied with the book at the highest level (  = 4.53, S.D.= 0.54).
