Abstract

This research evaluated the Master of Education Program in Educational Research Methodology (revised in 2018) of the Faculty of Education, Silpakorn University. The objectives of the research were
1) to evaluate the Master of Education Program in Educational Research Methodology (revised in 2018) of the Faculty of Education, Silpakorn University and 2) to study expectations and guidelines for the development of the Master of Education Program in Educational Research Methodology of the Faculty of Education, Silpakorn University. The informants in the research consisted of 1) five experts in educational research methodology, 2) two executives of the Faculty of Education, Silpakorn University, 3) three curriculum administrative committee members, 4) 22executives of educational institutions that are teacher professional development networks, 5) 11 alumni who have graduated from the program, and 6) 19 current students. The tools used were questionnaires, interview forms, focus groups, and the assessment form for the appropriateness of the course. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.


The results of data analysis.


  1. Overall assessment results of the Master of Education Program in Educational Research Methodology (revised in 2018) of the Faculty of Education, Silpakorn University based were at the highest level.

  2. The results of the study of expectation found that graduates of the program were expected to have a wide range of modern methodological knowledge and be able to transfer research knowledge and give advice on research to other people. The graduates were expected to be good researchers, have researcher ethics, have advanced thinking skills, creativity, problem-solving skills, and information transferring and communication skills. They should also have the ability to use technology in research, be able to actually conduct research, and be a role model and research leader.

  3. The results of the study of guidelines for the development of graduates in the program found that the program should 1) focus on the development of new research knowledge, 2) emphasize instructional design to enable research operations in real situations, 3) teach students to extend research results and apply research results to be beneficial, 4) organize extra-curricular activities for students to learn new research issues, and 5) include research morality and ethics in coursework and research practice.
