Learning process for self-development toward career success of Product designers

Abstract

This research is aimed at to study the success elements of a product design career and to synthesize the learning process in order to develop oneself for career success by using multiple qualitative methods. Data were collected through in-depth interviews using key questions. The key informants are 12 Product designers who work in 3 types of work as 1) Company employees 2) Independent designers and 3) The designer who owns the business.


Research has the following findings: 1) The elements and key factors for success in a career as a product designer are love and desire in a career Creating works that are profitable and valuable to life and society. Being a forwarder of knowledge and inspiration having the qualities of a fighter, observant, and experimental Including generating income at a level that can live according to your satisfaction with factors that support career success are having the opportunity to work with talented people Having a special level of communication skills there is a bond between careers. and being in an environment that is conducive to learning 2) Learning process for career success, starting from laying conditions for learning and exploring factors that affect learning. Researching data through reading, watching, listening, and doing analysis, processing, to select ways to understand, synthesize into new knowledge and specific skills, including changing attitudes.
