THE DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENCE LEARNING ACTIVITIES BY USING PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING AND INQUIRY-BASED LEARNING TOGETHER TO ENHANCE SCIENCE PROCESS SKILLS AND PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY FOR THE THIRD GRADE STUDENTS

Abstract
The purposes of this research were 1) to develop of science learning activities by using problem-based learning and inquiry- based learning together. 2) to evaluate the effectiveness by using problem-based learning and inquiry- based learning in these points following. 2.1) to compare the learning outcome before and after doing the science learning activities. 2.2) to study the science process skills before and after doing the science learning activities. 2.3) to study the problem solving ability before and after doing the science learning activities, and 2.4) to study the opinion of the third grade towards the science learning activities. The sample of this research were 40 students by Simple Random Sampling, in the third grade who are studying in the second semester 2018 academic year, St. Andrew school in Nakhon Pathom province. The instruments used for this experiment include 1) the lesson plans for learner development activities 2) Science process skills evaluation form 3) problem solving ability evaluation form, and 4) about the students’ opinion toward the science learning activities. The data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test dependent and content analysis.
The results were as follow: 1) The science learning activities by using problem-based learning and inquiry- based learning together. 2) The result of evaluate the effectiveness by using problem-based learning and inquiry- based learning together in these points following. 2.1) learning outcome was higher significance than before the science learning activities at the .05 2.2) the science process skills of third grade students during doing the science learning activities overall is at the high level. 2.3) the problem solving ability of third grade students during doing the science learning activities overall is at the high level. and 2.4) he opinion of the third grade towards the science learning activities by using problem-based learning and inquiry- based learning together were at a high agreement.
