Abstract
The purposes of this research were to find : 1. The actual power exercising of school administrator, 2. The expectancy of personnel and school committees for the power exercising of school administrator, and 3. The comparing result of the actual power exercising of school administrator to the expectancy of personnel and school committees. The population were 5 schools in Piyamitra consortium under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 4. The respondents were comprised of school administrator, personnel and school committees; with the total of 55. The research instrument was questionnaire about the power exercising committed by school administrator of Piyamitra consortium. The statistics used were frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean and standard deviation.
The findings were as follows:
1. The actual power exercising of school administrator, as a whole and as an individual was at a high level, ranking from the highest to the lowest: reward power, legitimate power, referent power, position power, coercive power, expert power, and personal power respectively.
- The expectancy of personnel and school committees for the power exercising of school administrator, as a whole and as an individual was at a high level, ranking from the highest to the lowest: legitimate power expert power, referent power, reward power, coercive power, personal power, and position power respectively.
- The comparison result of the actual power exercising of the school administrator and the expectancy of personnel and school committees for the power exercising of school administrator, as a whole and as an individual was different.
