A CAUSAL RELATIONSHIP MODEL OF JOB SATISFACTION AND ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT AFFECTING THE PERFORMANCE OF SUPPORTING STAFFS OF RAJAMANGALA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY KRUNGTHEP

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) develop a causal relationship model of job satisfaction and organizational commitment that affected the performance of supporting staffs of Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep; and 2) examine the relationship of the developed model with empirical data. The sample was 220 supporting staff of Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep derived by simple random sampling. Data were collected by an online questionnaire with Google Form. The casual relationship model was analyzed.


The research results were as follows:


  1. The causal relationship model of job satisfaction and organizational commitment that affected the performance of supporting staffs of Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep was consistent with the empirical data with goodness of fit statistics: chi-square test = 32.16, df=27, p-value=0.20, GFI=0.99, AGFI=0.98, SRMR=0.02, RMSEA=0.01.

  2. The job satisfaction has positive direct and indirect effect on the performance of supporting staff with organizational commitment as a mediator, while the organizational commitment has positive direct effect on the performance of supporting staff. All variables in the model could explain the variance affecting the performance of the supporting staffs at the percentage of 76.
