Abstract

The research aimed to compare: 1) the science learning achievement of fifth grade students before and after using STEM education learning management, as well as after using STEM education learning management and the set criteria; and 2) the creative problem-solving thinking ability of fifth grade students before and after using STEM education learning management, as well as after using STEM education learning management and the set criteria. The sample, derived by cluster sampling, consisted of 24 fifth grade students studying in the second semester of the academic year 2018 at Bannongkradi School, Song Phi Nong District, Suphan Buri Province. The research instruments were: 1) science lesson plans based on STEM education learning management; 2) a science achievement test; 3) a test on creative problem-solving thinking ability; and 4) an evaluation form about creative problem-solving thinking ability from the product. The statistics used for data analysis were mean, standard deviation, and t-test.

The results of this research were as follows: 1) the students’ science learning achievement after learning through STEM education learning management was higher than that of before, as well as higher than the set criteria of 70% with statistical significance at .05; and 2) the students’ creative problem-solving thinking ability after learning through STEM education learning management was higher than that of before, as well as higher than the set criteria of 70% with statistical significance at .05.
