Abstract

          The purposes of this research were to study: 1) the level of students’ adversity quotient; 2) the factors affecting adversity quotient of undergraduate students in Kasetsart University Kampheang Saen Campus, Nakhon Pathom Province. The research population was 5,376 undergraduate students studying in year 1 to year 4 in academic year 2018. The cluster random sampling was used to select the sample of 411 students. The instrument for data collection was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis to predict factors affecting adversity quotient.

The results revealed that: 1) the adversity quotient of undergraduate students was at a high level; and 2) regarding factors affecting students’ adversity quotient were motivation (X1), self-esteem (X4), and openness to experience (X7). The three aspects could predict the adversity quotient of undergraduate students at the percentage of 77.70; and the multiple correlation coefficient (R) was 0.881. The equation was as follows:

Ŷ = 1.1.25 + 0.354X1 + 0.164X4 + 0.124X7
