Abstract

          The purposes of this research were to: 1) study the academic administration and teaching efficiency of English teachers; and 2) identify the relationship between academic administration and teaching efficiency of English teachers. The research population was 264 administrators, heads of academic affairs department, and English teachers of the schools under the jurisdiction of the Office of Samut Songkhram Primary Educational Service Area. The sample was derived by simple random sampling, totaling 155 persons. The research instruments were questionnaires concerning academic administration and teaching efficiency of English teachers. The statistics used for data analysis were mean, standard deviation, and Pearson’s correlation coefficient.


          The research findings were as follows: 1) overall the level of academic administration in schools under the Office of Samut Songkhram Primary Educational Service Area was at a high level. When considering in each aspect, all aspects were at a high level. 2) Overall the relationship between academic administration and teaching efficiency of English teachers in schools under the Office of Samut Songkhram Primary Educational Service Area was at a high level with the statistical significance level of .01. When considering in each aspect, all aspects were significantly related at the level of .01. The aspects with the highest relationship were the application of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) as the main framework for English teaching and school curriculum development.
