It is one of the cities in the insurgent area, and also the location of this film. ‘City in the Mist’ is treated as a semiotic phrase implying the fog or the smoke of violence, overspreading the area. The film depicts a variety of lifestyles, cultures, and social difficulties. The film narrates through edited scenes of individuals of different social groups. The editing technique allows all stories of community and national significance to interweave. Altogether, the edited stories present various issues touching upon similarities and dissimilarities of nationalities, religions, and cultures, including youth problems, drug, and mistrustfulness expanding between Buddhist Thais and Muslim Thais.
