Abstract

The article aimed to 1) develop and validate a causal relationship model, and 2) study causal factors influencing purchase intention of Thai fragrance brands on the TikTok application of Generation Y consumers in Thailand. This study was quantitative research. The tools used in the research were online questionnaires. The sample was people who had purchased Thai fragrance brands on the TikTok application and live in Thailand, aged between 30–45 years—372 people. The statistics used for data analysis included frequency, percentage, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling. The results revealed that the causal relationship model consisted of 4 components: 1) perceived content quality, 2) brand image, 3) perceived risk, and 4) purchase intention, which showed a good fit with the empirical data. The variables in the model explained 57 percent of the variance in purchase intention of Thai fragrance brands on the TikTok application. Brand image and perceived risk had direct influence on purchase intention, while perceived content quality had an indirect influence through brand image and perceived risk. The findings of this study can serve as practical guidelines for Thai fragrance brand entrepreneurs to design content and formulate digital marketing strategies on TikTok in order to effectively drive purchase intention among Generation Y consumers.
